Our Team
Gavin Ishikawa (President and Owner) is a licensed General Contractor known for his commitment to quality craftsmanship and his ability to bring clients' construction dreams to life. His hands-on approach and attention to detail have earned him a reputation as a trusted professional in the construction community. In addition to his work in construction, Gavin is a Home Inspector and licensed Realtor, helping individuals find their dream homes. His knowledge of the local real estate market, combinned with his passion for helping clients, has made him a sought-after real estate agent.
Shelley Tanner, CKD joined the company in 1997 and has been producing award-winning designs for Hawaii. Working in the Kitchen and Bath industry since 1993 has given Shelley extensive knowledge in construction and remodeling. Her formal education includes a two-year Associates Degree in Commercial Art from Honolulu Community College and a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design Degree from Chaminade University. Her impressive journey includes obtaining the CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) designation in 1996, a testament to her expertise and dedication. In 2019 the NKBA Aloha Chapter presented Shelley with the Distinguished Kitchen & Bath Designer Award acknowledging a designer who has consistently showcased and entered projects for 10 years or more, winning awards at various levels, including multiple top-level technical awards, and has had multiple projects selected for Hawaii Home & Remodeling Editor's Choice Award. Her secret to success revolves around active listening, impeccable organization, and unwavering attention to detail. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, and creating art projects.
Allisen Caberto joined the company as a Design Assistant. With her knowledge in digital drafting and rendering, she is an AutoCAD draftsman and social media manager for John Cook Kitchens. Prior to entering the field, Allisen graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Environmental + Interior Design from Chaminade University. From 2019, she was a commercial interior designer at a few Architect design firms in Honolulu and was involved in various hospitality, institutional, and residential projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands. She later joined John Cook Kitchens to focus primarily on residential design, detailing, construction, and management. On the side, Allisen is a natural born foodie who loves traveling and exploring new things.
