John Cook Kitchens is an award-winning, full service design and remodeling company, specializing in kitchens and baths.  We are a local company with proven staying power in business since 1973 and consistently recognized by our peers in the industry.  Our team brings innovative design and knowledge through experience to the customers we serve.

Our Team

Owner Mark Olson took over the company from founder John Cook in 1993.  Mark brings to the company nearly 30 years experience in construction, remodeling and the specialized areas of Kitchen and Bath construction.  He has managed projects ranging in size from small home and office remodeling to large multi-unit luxury condominiums with developers both locally and from the mainland.  He has served as President of the Aloha Chapter National Kitchen and Bath Association from 2006-2008 and currently serves as the Executive Pastor for New Hope Diamond Head.

Shelley Tanner, Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), has been with John Cook Kitchens since 1997 and serves as our company’s Lead Designer with her award-winning kitchen designs.

With almost 20 years in the industry and former owner of her own design company, Elisa Vollert, Allied Member A.S.I.D., also brings proven experience to the company.

As the general manager and VP of Sales & Marketing, Heidi Mukai manages the daily operations of the company.  And with 10 years in the kitchen and bath industry as an appliance specialist, she offers a wealth of knowledge to the company and our customers.

Theresa Youn manages the company’s office administration and also schedules and coordinates our projects with the field team and our customers.

With varied background, education, and over 50 years of combined industry experience, our team will not only design your new Kitchen or Bath, but they will also coordinate all the finish details of your remodeling project.
